52 Weeks, 52 Verses--Week 34 & 35

I know, I know.  I missed a week posting here.

It's not that I forgot.  It's that I lost my memory verse ring!  I have a wonderful large metal ring that I have been keeping all of my memory verses on for this year, and it goes with me everywhere.  And that's exactly the problem.  It goes with me everywhere!  And evidentally, it did not return with me from somewhere.  Either that--or it is hiding in my house.  Which is very possible as well. . .   And this ring has no "home," where it is supposed to be--because it is just always somewhere close to my reach.

Therefore, I kept putting off posting a verse for week 34.  I was afraid that whatever verse I picked, it might be one that I have already picked earlier in the year.  Yes, I know I "could" look on my blog and open every single 52 in 52 post, and look to see what verse I picked for that week.  But--quite frankly--I don't have time for that!  That is why I would always refer to my ring of memory verse cards before I picked a new verse for an upcoming week.

Sigh.

Oh well.  I suppose it doesn't really matter.  What does matter is that I am spending time meditating and memorizing God's Word.  So I guess if I pick a verse I have already picked--well, I just needed to be thinking on that verse once again!

So--now that we have THAT out of the way--I love the verses that I picked for last week and this upcoming week.

"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted."  Job 5:9

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."  Jeremiah 33:3

I love these verses.  God can do even the impossible.

Have a wonderful week with Jesus!

52 Weeks, 52 Verses--Week 33

Busy, busy, busy!
I keep thinking that life will slow down as soon as X is over.  But guess what?  Whatever it was will finish--swimming lessons, Vacation Bible School, whatever it was--but somehow as soon as one thing is finished something else has come to take it's place!  Let's just put it this way--I'm NEVER bored!!!!!  I never get up in the morning and wonder whatever I will DO that day!  Which, I realize, truly IS a blessing. . .

Well, so currently it is school that is keeping me busy.  Homeschooling our little one, college activities for our big one.  So when I read this verse, it stood out to me as a great "school promise!"
Of course, it is a great promise for ALL situations--not just school.

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
Jeremiah 33:3

We may not know.  We may not have the answer.  But there is One who does--and the best part is He has promised to answer.

52 Weeks, 52 Verses--Week 32

Hi Everyone!

Here we are at the start of another week!  Time is flying by so fast--I can't believe we are this far into the new year.  Didn't it JUST turn 2012????

As I took a moment to think of what verse I wanted to chose for this coming week, I realized I can't hide something any more.  In case you haven't already figured it out--I admit it.  Guilty as charged.  I love Isaiah!  EVERY time I sit down to chose a verse for the week, it seems I keep coming back to verses in this beautiful book.  Really, you do not realize how much effort it takes for me to chose a verse that is NOT in Isaiah!  Lots of beautiful promises throughout the Bible, but I do so love Isaiah.  I wish I could memorize the whole entire book.

But for now, I will be happy with choosing favorite verses from it to memorize and to share with you.  If you happened to listen to the song I posted over the weekend, "God Will Make a Way," then you will recognize the verse I chose for this week.  For the words of that song sound SO very much like it was based on this verse.  I can't say for sure, of course, because I do not know the story behind the song composition, but I strongly suspect it was this verse that prompted the creation of the song. . .

I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
                                                                       Isaiah 41:18

What do you think?  Sounds like the words to  "God Will Make a Way," doesn't it?  Whatever the hopeless situation is--God can turn it around.  Desert becomes water.  Despair becomes hope.  Death becomes life.

All because of God.

Have a beautiful week, walking with your Savior.

God Will Make a Way

Happy Sabbath Everyone!

My son found this version of the song "God Will Make A Way" on YouTube, and it is such a pretty song that I thought I would share it with all of you--just in case there is someone out there who has never heard this song before! :)  I know I hadn't, before just a couple years ago.  Truly this has become my absolute favorite song ever.  Not only are the words and music beautiful--but I have seen the truth in this song played out in my own personal life.  Impossible situations.  Brick walls.  No openings.

But God.

My two favorite words in the English language.  But God.  But God changes everything.  But God opens doors that were closed tight before.  But God has a way, even when "I" do not.

Hope you enjoy the song!  And have a beautiful rest of the Sabbath!

52 Weeks, 52 Verses--Week 31

Happy new week Everyone!

O.K. so maybe it's "Happy middle of a new week" instead!   What a busy week last week was for me, as I was taking our little one to both swimming lessons and then again in the evening out to Vacation Bible School, which of course kept her up later than normal.  Which leads to a tired child by the end of the week, which leads to--you know, the grumpies!  I had "hoped" that this week would be better, with only swimming lessons going on and no VBS in the evenings, but well. . . let's just say I think she is still tired. But we are working on it.

So I "thought" this week would be less busy than last week, and I guess it is, sort of.  But this week also marks the week my hubby starts teaching his summer school class, and the week my son starts TAKING his first college class ever--not my husband's class, by the way, though our son IS taking his dad's class in the fall.  Yes, I have already told my husband "Whatever you do, you CAN'T fail him!!!!"  There have to be SOME advantages of living with your teacher, right?  Do I hear 24/7 individualized tutoring???  O.K., I will be realistic.  We do take Sabbath off.  So I guess that should be adjusted to 24/6 tutoring! ;)

All right, all right, I suppose I should get serious.  This week is truly going great for my family--just extra busy with new adjustments.  But very very good.  God is blessing.  All the time.

Which leads me to this week's verse.  Just because I have been busy and have not been good about posting my verses in a timely manner on my blog does not mean I have not been choosing them.  The verse for this week is one that my daughter had to memorize for her Vacation Bible School last week, and I absolutely love it.

"For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, 'Fear not:  I will help thee.'"  Isaiah 41:13.

This verse reminds me of my feeling about our son taking his Dad's class.  I know my husband will do everything possible to help him be successful and pass (by the way, he truly does this for ALL his students!).  The only way for our son to fail will be if he chooses to not accept the help that is there--through notes, assignments, tutoring, etc.

Perhaps there is a similarity between that situation and our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  Are there hurdles we are facing?  Yes!  And they are big ones too!  But we are not facing them alone.  And with God, we cannot fail.

Beautiful, wonderful Jesus.  Because of Him, the battle is won.
