We are reading Psalm 103 today--and let me tell you it is a hard task to narrow the neat verses down and try and choose just ONE for my Bible notebook! So I gave in and wrote two--but there were several others that I also was very tempted to write. But I guess you are just going to have to go read this Psalm for yourself, and then you can choose YOUR favorites!
I wrote down verses 11 and 12:
"For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:11,12
Just think about those verses for a minute--exactly how far IS it from the east to the west??? Is that even an answerable question? How far can you travel east before you are not traveling east any more? Could you not continue to travel east, around and around in a circle around the earth and still be traveling east? And the same thing about traveling west? This--this is how far our Father has removed our sins from us when we ask Him. And as far as the heaves are high above the earth. If you look with your naked eyes it looks fairly high. But take a look through something like the Hubble telescope and you will discover that little dots you saw are actually whole entire galaxies that go on and on and on. THAT is how much mercy God has for us, His children.

But he whose eyes have been opened by the love of Christ will behold God as full of compassion. He does not appear as a tyrannical, relentless being, but as a father longing to embrace his repenting son. The sinner will exclaim with the Psalmist, 'Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him..' (Psalm 103:13)"

How much He loves us--and how often we accuse Him of the most unloving things! Instead of correctly identifying "an enemy has done this," we accuse our Father--the One who loves us more than life itself! How this must hurt Him! And yet--He stands ready and waiting to forgive us and to welcome us back home anyway!
Spend some time with Him today--He is truly waiting to hear from you!
